TransGlobe Energy Corporation is an international exploration and production company with its head office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and an office in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt.
With interests in approximately 6.8 million acres in the Arab Republic of Egypt ("Egypt") and the Republic of Yemen ("Yemen"), TransGlobe is the largest land owner in the region when compared with peers with a similar market capitalization. TransGlobe, following two significant acquisitions in late 2007 and early 2008, now operates approximately 3,300 bopd of oil production in Egypt. The Company's interests in Yemen are operated by highly reputable international oil and gas companies (Occidental Petroleum and DNO) and currently (spring 2008) produce approximately 4,000 bopd of light, sweet crude.
