Yemen West

In West Yemen, TransGlobe holds a 25-percent working interest in Blocks S-1 and 75. These blocks are operated by Occidental Petroleum, a major U.S. oil and gas exploration company. Both blocks are located in the Marib basin, adjacent to the 1.0+ billion barrels of oil discovered by Hunt Oil. Block S-1, strategically located near production facilities, has been producing light, sweet crude since 2003 from the An Nagyah discovery. The Block 75 exploration concession was ratified by the Yemeni parliament in 2008. A 340 square kilometre 3D seismic acquisition program is planned for 2009, with exploration drilling expected in 2010.
