Operations

TransGlobe’s combined properties contain a multi-year prospect inventory in prolific international hydrocarbon basins, focused in the Middle East /North Africa Region.

TransGlobe became an international operator through its farm-in at Nuqra inthe Arab Republic of Egypt ("Egypt") in July 2004, attaining an objective the Company’s management team had focused on for a number of years. Additional acquisitions in Egypt, notably in the West Gharib area, followed in 2007 and 2008. TransGlobe’s team quickly demonstrated its significant technical and operational skills, applying technology and capital to the low-risk, development-oriented fields and achieving production increases in short order. In January 2010, TransGlobe announced the signing of a farm-out agreement with Vegas Oil & Gas SA to earn a 50% interest in the East Ghazalat Concession in the Western Desert of Egypt.

Since 1996,  the Company has also held interests ranging from 13% to 25% in four international blocks in the Republic of Yemen ("Yemen"). The Company is a non-operating partner with reputable, experienced energy producers, Occidental Petroleum Corporation (United States) and DNO International ASA (Norway), operating the projects in West Yemen and East Yemen, respectively. The Yemen properties offer both higher risk exploration and low risk development opportunities, where the rewards from successful drilling could be significant.
