TransGlobe Energy Corporation

West Gharib

TransGlobe's success as an operator was quickly established at West Gharib where a number of producing wells have been drilled. TransGlobe's latest successes can be attributed to the horizontal fracture stimulations ("frac") of Nukhul formation at the Arta field. The final stage of the frac at Arta #12 was successfully completed on June 17, 2010.  The well was placed on production on June 23.  This horizontal fracture stimulation project was a first for Egypt and is deemed a success for TransGlobe.
