TransGlobe Energy Corporation
West Gharib
TransGlobe's success as an operator was quickly established at West Gharib where a number of successful wells were drilled throughout 2008. In mid-2008, waterfloods were initiated in the Hoshia and Hana fields, which showed early signs of success. Late in the year (November 2008), the Company made a significant discovery when it drilled the Hana #18 well which tested a combined rate of 2,820 Bopd from four new pools. For 2009, TransGlobe plans to drill up to 12 wells at West Gharib, primarily focused on development and appraisal drilling.
